Lisa Heller Boragine has an undergraduate degree from the University of Vermont in Environmental Studies and a Master of Arts degree in Speech Communication from Syracuse University School of Visual and Performing Arts. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Environmental Studies at Antioch University New England researching innovative pedagogy in sustainability and environmental communication. She has taught for 20+ years in variety of communication areas such as public speaking, argumentation and debate, interpersonal and nonverbal communication, media studies, communication theory, persuasion and environmental studies. She is fluent in Spanish and English and have served as a trainer and invited judge at Spanish language academic debate institute in Colombia. She works as a full time tenured faculty in Communication for Cape Cod Community College during the day and as an adjuct faculty in the evenings for Stonehill College. She has a background in both service learning and civic engagement, having served as faculty coordinators of service learning and civic engagement curriculum at Cape Cod Community College and having previous experience working in the Swearer Center for Service Learning while at Brown University.
