With a German birth certificate, a Canadian accent and an Australian passport, Liese embraces the idea that we all have multiple possible futures. Following a ten year career as a glass artist centred in Vancouver, she moved to Australia and completed a MSc Communication at the Australian National University (ANU), focused on global environmental change. Liese authored a report on voluntary carbon offsets for the Global Carbon Project and has worked as communication manager for research organizations that support adaptation to climate change, both at CSIRO and at the National Climate Change Adaptation Research Facility (NCCARF). Liese has consulted with government departments and universities in Australia and has volunteered with the Red Cross in evacuation centres in Queensland since 2010. Currently she is completing a PhD at Griffith University focused on the social construction of 2035: Communicating the imagined future to adapt to climate change.
