David Flanders is a landscape architect and registered professional planner currently working as a research affiliate with the Collaborative for Advanced Landscape Planning at the University of British Columbia. He is also Adjunct Faculty in UBC’s School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, and is the founder of DPI Territorial, a planning and design consultancy based out of Vancouver, Canada and Guadalajara, Mexico.
David conducts environmental and land use planning to improve community resilience, address impacts of and responses to environmental change, explore energy demand and production, and co-design strategic, community-based solutions to complex problems. He has 10 years of experience developing strategies that include broad stakeholder engagement, scenario-based visioning, spatial analysis and the use of science-driven, graphic 2D, 3D and 4D visualization.
