I am a native of the New Orleans area and have spent most of my life in this area, although I have had several international experiences in Latin America and did my graduate studies in Canada at Simon Fraser University's School of Resource & Environmental Management. My research and professional interests focus on sustainable community development, specifically as they relate to participatory forms of measuring and monitoring progress towards community and regional sustainability goals. My Master's work, under supervisor Mark Roseland and co-supervisor John Dagevos, director of the TELOS Centre for Sustainable Development, focused on developing a framework for regional sustainability in Greater New Orleans, where I am from, based on a comprehensive sustainability monitoring tool for the region guided by the Centre for Sustainable Community Development's Community Capital Tool and an integrated vision for sustainability from within the region. I am currently working in social enterprise in New Orleans and doing independent research on participatory sustainability monitoring in contexts of collaborative governance and regional sustainable development.
