The 6th International Conference on Local Government

An International Conference on Local Government (ICLG) has been annually held since 2010. Based on this tradition, the International Association for Local Governments (IALG) was established at the 4th ICLG in Surabaya, Indonesia with its core mission to promote local governance and mutual learning among local government scholars and practitioners. To fulfill this mission, IALG and its partners will collaborate on organizing the 6th ICLG on September 17-18, 2015.

International Conference on Sustainable Development 2015

The International Conference on Sustainable Development is jointly presented by the Ontario International Development Agency (OIDA) and the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Law (ICIRL) at Laurentian University in Canada. OIDA and ICIRL will connect with host country partners as a knowledge hub to organize the event.

The EcoMobility Dialogues

The EcoMobility Dialogues 2015 – a five-day of dialogues focusing on key urban mobility challenges - is part of the second edition of the EcoMobility World Festival series. A core part of the Sandton Central Business District of Johannesburg will be closed for regular traffic in the month of October, offering a view of the city in the future, with active street life and social inclusivity, served by a sustainable transport system.

[Webinar] Rethinking Our Land: Growing Sustainable and Resilient Communities

Karen Firehock, founder of the Green Infrastructure Center and author of Strategic Green Infrastructure Planning will present a new way of thinking about natural resources as green infrastructure. The book addresses the nuts and bolts of planning and preserving natural resources at a variety of scales—from dense urban environments to scenic rural landscapes. The webinar series follows the book and also provides expanded examples and case studies to teach participants why and how to implement successful plans.
